Since September 2009, Dr. Andreas Breuer has been managing New Technologies / Projects and is officer with statutory authority at RWE Rheinland Westfalen Netz AG in Essen, Germany, a company which changed its name to RWE Deutschland AG as of 01.01.2011.
He is responsible for both technical grid research and development activities (e.g. future energy grids, supraconducting cables, FTTx, broadband cabling) as well as meter services (e.g. smart meter, smart building), application technologies (micro CHP, ProViPP), grid models and grid services.
Previously, he was Managing Director of Süwag Erneuerbare Energien GmbH and Head of Concession Contract Management at Süwag Energie AG, a regional company of the RWE Group in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Before joining the RWE Group in 2003, Dr. Breuer was product manager specialising in maintenance strategies of the consulting department at ABB AG.
