Jürgen Lenz studied Chemical and Industrial Engineering at the Karlsruhe University of Technology. He started his professional career in 1974 at BASF in plant construction. From 1989 until 1992 he was a member of the management of BASF Brasiliera/Sao Paolo. From 1993 until 1994 he was a member of the management of Wingas, where he was responsible for storage and pipeline projects. Between 1995 and 1998 he was responsible for BASF’s Engineering Division before moving to Ruhrgas AG in 1998/99. He has been a member of the Executive Board of the German Association of Transport Sciences (DVWG) since 2002. Since 2003 he has also been Chairman of the DVWG’s Gas Research Advisory Board.
