Frank Zeeb, born in 1964, is Projects Director for ‘Smart Grids’ at Germany's leading independent engineering and consultancy company, Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG, with his professional activities focused on advising energy supply utilities. Mr. Zeeb was previously a partner in the Energy & Utilities Department of IBM Deutschland GmbH.

Mr. Zeeb has been active in the energy sector for over twenty years, for ten of which he served as director, general manager and executive board member at various energy supply utilities.

In 1998, as certified signatory, he was made responsible for all procurement and logistics of the EnBW energy utility group. In this role, he established an effective, qualified and market oriented service provider.

Following the merger between the two southwest German power utilities EVS AG and Badenwerk, as member of the executive board he successfully set up one of the four power transmission grid operators in Germany, EnBW Transportnetze AG. As spokesperson for the company management, in 1998 he guided the utility company for metering and billing, EnBW Gesellschaft für Messung und Abrechnung GmbH with around 5 million customers, and Yello Strom through the difficult transition phase of liberalization. As commercial manager of Obrigheim Nuclear Power Plant, from 2001 to 2003, Mr. Zeeb oversaw the decisive phase of the consensus negotiations on nuclear power with the outcome of an extension of reactor operating life, and was responsible for the finance department, personnel and public relations. At MVV Energie AG, following its strategic reorientation in 2003, as director of group controlling, acquisitions and risk management, as well as M&A, he introduced transparency in operating results, costs, procedures and strategy into the MVV Group, and completely streamlined the portfolio. He has also been a supervisory board member in various municipal utility holdings in Germany and other countries.
